Straight pipe

So I'm going to straight pipe my 2.2 and I'm wondering should go catless and should I keep the resonator?
Oh and I heard there's little power gains. Is that true?
and is there any mpg gains?

First it sounds like crap or a honda. Second its loud. I'm sure your neighbors would love the extra noise.

I don't know exact how much louder or more powerful that setup would be, but what are your goals? If you don't think it'll give you much of a power boost, but it'll make your neighbors and everyone else give you dirty looks, is it worth it? Like I said, I have no idea how loud or how good/bad straight piping would be, I'm genuinely curious.

My goal is deep throaty sound with little power gain for cheap.

But when youre in school, broke and want performance, you go about it the wrong way. Taking out your cat, resonator and muffler on a 2.2 will wield you absolutely no power gain, will make you look like an ass, will make even more people stereotype cobalts, will make your car sound like ass. Catch my drift? Id rather see a $50 ebay exhaust than what you want to do

I added an SS/TC exhaust on my 2.2 didn't sound bad til I added a catted dp and was loud enough, raspy at most. I mean you literally had to ease on the throttle to minimized the volume.
