Another Throttle body question

Hello, I have a question about the size of the 2.2 TB. I searched and found the 2.2 is 60 MM. Now on my PT cruiser, the TB was about 5 MM bigger from a 2.4 auto trans than a stick trans. They said its because it make the car more friendly to people who are not good at driving sticks. Did GM do that?

I will get out there and measure and photo mine this weekend. On the PT you could really see the difference.
