Unhappy Outside Mirror Caps

I wanted these for my balt. It is a 2009 Slate Metalic Cobalt LS XFE and the dumb dealer doesn't offer them in that color and i contacted gm online and they could not help me but give me other dealers phone numbers. The thing I can not understand is what if someone bought the LT in this color and they where in a accident and one of the mirrors broke, are they just screwed. I mean i'm not so much mad as i am more wow that is dumb.

can't you just get a shop to paint them using your paint code?
note to self: be glad your car is a primary color

Because of the texture on the factory ones, I personally wouldn't paint them, I'd find some aftermarket ones (in another color), then take those to be painted. But I shouldn't talk, my car is USM(ultra silver metallic) and I was able to get some for my car.
