Ugh, I Swear, These Lights Are Going to Be the Death of Me

okay, so anything i can get from radio shack that will just light up the entire underside where the pedals and passengers feet are at? im getting kinda pissed at buying the wrong led lights and also rigging them to where they might not get enough power or anything =/
like im looking for something to use with a twelve volt power source and preferably not have to use more than one or two. and it would also be night if i didnt have to put in resistors or anything like that because i freak out if i have to do that because im not 3000 percent sure if im doing it the right way =/

does anyone have any suggestions on what to get thats uber bright? because 10mm Ultra-High Brightness Red LED (2-Pack) - RadioShack.com makes it look like a flashlight bulb, and the littler rectangular ones dont do to hot either. i just want uniform lighting over a decent area. and hell, if neon is the way to go, the by all means, im not against that but usually they are kinda expensive.
