Difference Between Bumper and Bumper Cover

Today I was reading about bumper and bumper cover, I think bumper cover is same thing as we call bumper. The real bumper is the hevy metal that protects your car in a crash and the bumper cover is the plastic cover that goes around the heavy metal and we all call it bumper . well When I know this I think I finaly found my ss front bumper ( cover) .

we all call it bumper but the industry call it bumper covers and they are same thing .

snyone have something to add or more information about difference between bumper and bumper cover please let me know cuz Im not 100% sure if Im right.

The bumper for the SS/NA and SS/SC are the same. I believe the only differen is the SS/SC bumper comes with the slots to attatch the front lip already cut out for you. The SS/NA which is what I have are not cut out for you. They are marked on the back side of it, but you would have to do the work yourself. Be careful with ordering those bumpers from online stores. I did that once and when the bumper arrived it was for an LT not an SS. When I called them up to find out what happened they told me the SS bumper will not fit the LS models, but the LT will fit the SS, so I ended up sending it back to them. In most cases the picture is not what the bumper will look like when it gets to you.

Thanks for the info, so how you put your ss bumper did you had to do any cuting sanding or drilling to make it fit .
