Need Some Education on Projectors

First off thanks to everyone that has responded to my posts. I'm still a rookie and it won't let me PM till I get 10 posts in.

I need some education on headlight replacement. I'm thinking of getting projectors with halos. i have two questions. I've seen in posts projectors being referred to as 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation. What is the significance of this labeling? Is it performance or just styling?

Second, is there a way to wire the daytime running lights into the halos only, then the projectors come on for headlights?

Last, how do they improve lighting? Is it length or width? (Thankfully this is a car forum and not adult forum LOL).

Thanks for any response. Hopefully look for my "stock" photos in a couple of days.

1st, 2nd, 3rd gen are the styles of halo headlights.

For the halos to come on with DRL, you just splice the DRL wire to power your halos and headlights to headlights.

You cant really improve distance, but you can improve brightness. HIDs have different temperatures (colors), use 4300k ish for the best brightness.
