Odometer Wtf?

Ok so yesterday i was early to class and decided to stay a bit inside my car listening to the radio while the car was off. im looking out the front windshield and then notice that all three needles in the dash are twitching simultaneously and in unison. they would move in 1/4- 1/2 increments up and then back down. they never moves past 1/2 an inch or so higher. Anyone know what this is? it kinduh freaked me out.
