Painting Interior Trim

Can I sand and paint the gray front and rear pillars in my coupe? it's a different texture than the other trim i was planning on painting, just wanted to see if it's harder to get a good result. I'm down with prep work and finishing, done that before, just want to see if anyone has gotten good results from painting those four pillars.

I just pulled mine off, cleaned them with prep-all and primed and painted...I did not sand them and they came out perfect.

They are already a pretty rough texture so i dont see the need to sand. Plus if you sand youll probably lose the texture.
