Cobalt Vs. G5

Is a G5 front bumper compatible with the cobalt front end?

All G5 front Bumpers start off as Cobalt ones. GM just trimmed the top cross bar to accomodate the Pontiac Grille surround. If you pull the G5 grille surround off, you'll see where they trimmed.

It is technically the same as the cobalt bumper. Minus the center bar in the grille.

Thing is, I can probably get this: Manitoba Public Insurance - Salvage Pictures for cheap and the front bumper is definitely better looking than mine.

Then your car would have a G5 front bumper. It will bolt right up. You will have to use the G5 grille as well. No way around that really.

If he puts the G5 rear bumper, tails, and decklid on, he'd have a G5.

Seriously, it is that easy to conver the Cobalt into a G5.
