140mph Gauge Cluster on My 08 LT?

I have a few questions about a new cluster...

Just for knowledge, I have a 2008 LT with a 120mph cluster.

I was just curious if I was to get a 140mph inlay, if I would need to get my needle calibrated or what, or if I got the whole cluster if it'd adapt automatically...

As far as I know, if you get a whole new cluster it will adjust automatically (the car recognizes 50mph or something like that). If you just put an overlay on, the needle will be off and would have to be recalibrated. Not sure how you would do that though…

There is a thread on the site somewhere about doing the swap.

not as far as the DIC is concerned. its all in icydubs new cluster swap how to

---------- Post added at 11:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 AM ----------

little copy nad paste for you here

READ THIS FIRST - YEAR COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION
If you get the same year speedometer as your car, it will work 100%
05-06 work with 05-06 and everything will work fine
05-06 will partly work with 07+, you will only see the mileage and temperature, you lose all other DIC features
07 will work on 08+, everything will work except the TPMS light (TMPS still works though)
08-10 work with 08-10, everything will work
The speed will recalibrate and will show the correct information if changing from 120mph to 140/160 cluster
You can buy speedometers on ebay for $60-110 shipped
LS/LT/SS/Sport doesn't matter. Coupe/Sedan doesn't matter.
