Would the Procedure for Painting the Letters Be the Same As the Bowtie?

I was wondering if I would do the same thing to the letters as I would do to the bowtie(clean, spray, clear)?

Hand sand them. I would just debadge it too much of a hassle. But I would sand with a medium grit, primer, sand with a finer grit, reapply primer then sand with a fine grit, paint 2 coats, then clear coat.
