Question Black Tint Strip on My Rear Window?

I got my windows tinted like 3 years ago and never understood why this strip was here....does everyone have it?

I was planning on putting my 8 decals i get soon on the back but not across this strip of vinyl.

They prolly put that there because they knew the window tint would not stick to the black dots. I wish the company that did mine had put one on. You can see where mine does not stick at the top.
