Sooo the other day one of my low beam on my pass side went out, It's an HID so either the ballast or the bulb burnt out, I don't really know or care. So that leaves me with one working headlight. . .so basically I just bought stockers on ebay for $80 and Ima paint em'. btw my gen two projectors w/ 2 8000k lows and 2 8000k highs are for sale(h1 & h7), idk whats wrong with them...the halos work fine though, so those will be up as soon as I get the stockers done, so if you want them claim them and gimme a price...
. . .and to the questions
1.) Is clearcoat suggested? also primer?
I plan on cooking them at 200F for 10 or so minutes...
pealing them apart, painting the exterior white assembly most likely also(with clear) and the little reflective lense will be nightshaded slightly...as for the blinker reflector, I'm thinkin' black....we'll see what kinda replies I get for that.
*trying to do this on a budget, so we'll see what I can do them for... =)
Also, I may put 2 VERY thin coats of VHT on the inside of the lense, along with a layer of clear, then buff them to even it all out and get it all glossy, well see....
and pics of what I got...
(Light to Right)
2 Tubes of GE Premium Waterproof Silicone (clear)
1 Can of Krylon Gloss Black
1 Can of Krylon White Primer
And the Budget-
Silicone (x2) $7.44
Primer (x1) $2.97
Paint (x1) $2.97
Lights (set) $85.17
As for the Nightshade, I may have some in my box o' stuff at home so that'll determine weather or not I do any...I'm satisfied with keeping this all under $100.
