Exclamation Whats a Good Primer to Use Prior to Painting Your Rims?

Started a little project today of repainting my rims gloss black. Sanded them down and sprayed the primer on and it cracked all over. Any suggestions of types or brands of primer to use?!

Don't paint your rims... Powder coat them it's way more resistant and it looks better. It's like 50-75$ per mag if it's in good condition. If you do it, you won't regret it

Couldn't remember the first ones that i used.. Finally two primers later I used the self etching primer.. still cracked in some spots usually around the corners of the rim where it was hard to sand all the old paint and clear coat off.

Does plasti dip require priming or prepping? I'm taking a four day weekend in the next month to do this and would like to get everything ready. My stock rims are corroding and I was hoping this would not only cover the corrosion but make the car look better after getting painted black.

Other than cleaning the surface, not really.
