Something New I Dont Believe Anyones Done

So ive been looking to do something new with the inside of my car, and i hate doing things others have done so i thought of a new idea. I had some old treadplate (diamond plating) laying around and thought of trying to cut the plate to make sort of "inlays" for the middle console pieces. Afterwards painted with a satin black rattlecan to match the color of the stock interior.

I hope you guys like it =p

I have a week off from work coming up, and ill be posting some more stuff im up to hopefully lol.

The diamond plate looks amazing compared to regular stock, ill go out and take a pic to compare(the metal pieces arent 3m-ed down yet. Its sad how much plastic is in the inside of our cars, i wanted more metal lol

If you have a dremel (i used a dremel because an angle grinder was too high of an rpm for the thickness of the metal), ~$10-$20 for the piece of metal, and about an hour of time, you can easily do this yourself! =p

After:

The rear cup holder plate is missing (im deciding clear coating them or not, and painting the back side now)

Are these going to be glued in there. If not, they would become a leathal weapon in an accident. Why do you think that there's so much plastic and easily bent metals in our Cobalts? All is calculated my friend, so make sure those pieces are secured.

I'm thinking some 3m tape, or maybe glue. I have every stock part ive taken off the car, so if i ever wanted to go back to stock for some reason id like to be able to get them back off again lol

As long as you understand what kind of damage a loose piece of metal can do to someones face or child. People have been badly injured by a simple box of tissue laying loose in the car.

But again it's a great idea and looks good.
