Exclamation Thinking of Dash Painting.

Proud owner of a Silver 2008 Chevy Cobalt.
I've been looking through some posts and am wanting to paint my dash.

A few questions.
Do I have to remove the old paint? (Do I just paint right over it?)
If you have had painted your dash, did you regret it?
What colors do you think would look nice on silver?

(Random Question)
What color rims would you think would look really nice on the silver?
Going to be working soon to hopefully pay for all this.
Thanks guys.

When you say Dash you mean the trim right? All I did was pop them out, give them a sanding then used an adhesive promoter before I painted.

I've got a silver cobalt myself and my dash trim is purple. Doubt that's what you'd be going for but hey, it looks good lol.

As for rims, get whatever you like. I personally always liked black rims on light coloured cars. Makes them look meaner... I guess.

Anyways if you want more details, search in the forums, it's all there. =)

Do I have to remove the old paint? (Do I just paint right over it?) Nope, I lightly sanded mine but some people don't even do that

Silver's a neutral so pretty much anything will go. I'd say anything but brown.

What color rims would you think would look really nice on the silver?Same as above! I personally like black rims on silver balts.
Going to be working soon to hopefully pay for all this.
Thanks guys.

As mentioned above, check out people's show off threads for ideas; that's a good place to get started.

I'm thinking of doing the same.. But the actual Dash, above the guage cluster by the windshield. If you find any information that helps you, let me know.

Working on the interior on my '05 4 door Cobalt.

There are 7mm screws behind the removable trim, take that off and you should find how the dash comes out.

Not really, you will never get the texture back to stock so make sure this is what you want first. New dash is not cheap!
