Question Need Help with Electrical Please!

So, I just installed my new Spyder Halo Headlights with LED's. Now my running taillights don't work, neither does the gauge cluster lighting or the HVAC control lights. They were simple quick connects that were not hard to install (even for a novice like me) but now the taillights don't work when the running lights are on. The brake lights work just fine which is strange and the headlights work just fine which is really strange since i thought the headlights and taillights ran off the same relay. I took it to Brake Specialists the other day to see if they had any idea (although i want to do a lot of custom electrical work to my car I don't understand it very well right now) and they thought the only thing it could be my dimmer switch on the interior trim paneling to the left of the steering wheel (which i also broke into pieces when i removed my trim). I got a new dimmer switch OEM from the dealership and plugged that in and still no luck. I checked all the fuses in the car and they are all fine. I was wondering if someone could help me with this. I will post pics of my configuration in just a little while. Any ideas?

Check for power at your fuse for the gauge cluster with a multimeter.

Would that cause the running taillights and the HVAC lights to fail too?

Cluster bulbs are on the same fuse as your park lights. This is to warn you when you have no lights in the back. No cluster means no taillights.

I just tested the Fuse in Slot 7 for the cluster with a multimeter set to 20 Ohms. Both sides read out at 0

Don't mean zilsh, pull the fuse out and look at it, then put your Ωmeter to it. If fuse tabs are corroded or pitted it will act like an open fuse even when it's good.



Once your positive fuse is good then you can move on to tracing the cause whether it be a bad switch, bad connector or broken wire.
