Why not take around the bowtie n for letters you can heat up the adhesive with a blow dryer n use a fish string n slide it behind em to pop them off.

I'm pretty new, what do you mean by bowtie? Is it the emblem?

yeah the bowtie is what chevrolet calls there emblems. taking it off can be a pain, gotta heat it up and run fishing line behind it, try not to pry on it either as you could dent the trunk. I took mine off and tossed it, looks much better with it off. If you can see a faded outline just polish and wax and it shouldn't be too obvious

If you want to re colour it though, I wouldn't bother with dip, its super easy to paint and much more durable, to put it back on just use some 2 sided tape (the black tape works best) you can get it at depot/lowes etc... I think LePage makes it.

I left the chrome piece on and just peeled off the bronze piece, painted it black, then super glued it. Been on for about a year now
