Auto Shift Boot Install

Anyone know how to install a shift boot for an automatic? I got mine today and did some research on it. Some have the boot just cover the shift rod and others have the boot covering the gear indicators and the shift rod. I plan on covering both but don't know how to go about it.

Ideas? I thought about glueing the bottom part of the boot to the underside of the trim piece.
