1st Gen Projector Question

I just got some 1st gen projectors with HIDs and I was wondering are the HIDs supposed to be on the inside or outside. The HID they supplied only fits in the outside part of the housing, but the outside only runs on highs.

The low beams are tight to fit the h1 hids but it will work. I have beamer hids 6000k's in my gen 1s.

'08 LS Sedan - Gen 1 headlights/debadged/tinted tails/pioneer deh-4900ib/Stock front - Kicker ks6930 rear/2 Kicker 10" subs in kicker factory box/kenwood 1000.1 amp
'99 Plymouth Neon Ex - depo projectors/tinted tails/ 3.0l cold air intake/megan short header/gutted cat/Flowmaster 80 series muffler/hondata intake gasket/17" rims -205/40/17 federal 595's/full painted interior - trade in for cobalt

yea I tried swaping the H1 in and didnt want to bend the metal hold down. Is there any other HID light that will fit in that spot?
