Interior and Headlight Question

Hey,

I have 2 questions. Firstly, the lights for the HVAC control panel, are they soldered in LEDs or just small bulbs in a socket?

Secondly, I have Gen 1 headlights and am looking to rebuild them. Does anyone know what I would need? Are there any power inverters or amplifiers, ring size in the headlights, etc.

Thanks,

Randy

If the instrument cluster bulbs are like the ones in my 06 Colorado truck (haven't had to replace any in 'Balt yet), they're Neo Wedge type like this:

You can get them here: Neo Wedge

Can't assist w/the headlamps...mine are stock, but I'm sure another member will chime-in soon. Good luck!

HVAC backlight bulbs are 4.7mm soldered on the board supported by a square plastic base.

I replaced mine with 12 volt LEDs. Arrows indicate negative side of LED.

They solders on nicely if you bend the leads this way. Before you cut the leads, the longer lead is always positive. If you cut the leads like I always do you can identify the leads if you look through the LED lens where the arrow is pointing you will see the black resistor on the positive side of the LED or negative side has a flat spot on the rim.

That looks really good. How hard was it to solder the LED leads to the board?
