Spedo/tach Needles Off/on

What is the best way to remove the gauge needles? they feel pretty delicate so I want to make sure I wont snap them if i try to pull them out too hard.

To remove the needles, grasp and turn counter-clockwise to break the tension. While continuing a counter-clockwise “unscrewing” motion, apply lift to remove. Do not pull straight up, as this is where you will most likely damage your cluster.

I have some pictures here if you're looking for more info
