Black Chevy Bowtie

Does anyone know where i can get a Black Bowtie for the front and back of my car to replace the gold ones? If I cant buy one, what is an easy way to make it black without it looking like crap?

Any help would be appreciated!

just paint it. give it a light sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper, spray paint it, then hit it with some clear coat. You can do it for under 10$

The fronts are removed by two 10mm nuts behind the grill. The rear is a little trickier but a hair dryer and fishing line will do. Then use goo gone to get the rest of the sticky stuff off. Then after you have painted it simply clean the spot you are going to put it on and use 3m adhesive tape to reattach it.

I want to keep the silver border though on the bowtie. I am not the best at "do-it-yourself things so what is the hair dryer and fishing line for? Also, won't paint chip after awhile?

You can tape off the silver boarder with masking tape. The hair dryer you use to heat up the adhesive in the back and use the fishing line to work behind the bowtie to separate it from the trunk deck.

As long as your surface is clean and you use several light coats your paint won't chip. The clear coat will help with that as well.

nightshade is spray tint( like for taillights)or just use paint. As long as you do light coats you will be fine.

Your going to have to take the bowtie off if you paint it. Just use masking tape on the silver, and paint it, it's not at all hard. Probably the easiest DIY mod you'll ever do...
