Parts for the Shifter

hi. newbie here. I just change my console and my shifter but when I tried to put it back I don't know where to put this part. if anybody can help me please.

uhh, one of the vents on your dashbord that heat and air comes out of.that part is one of the adjustable slats that u direct the flow of air with

2009 cobalt ss,k&N typhoon intake, short shifter,tuned cat-back exhaust, jet black.

It would have been easier for us if you would have told us details of the car, especially if it was manual or auto. Picture of the part sitting besides something like a ruler or a quarter so we have a reference of its size. Is it plastic or metal? I couldn't find anything similar in any of the exploded views of any shifter of any year or console that looked anything like what you pictured.
