Disconnect the battery,
Remove and disconnect the ignition coil connectors from the ignition coils,
Using a 9/16 mm wrench remove the retaining bolts from the ignition coils.
Disconnect the ignition coils from the engine.
Remove the ECT sensor.
Disconnect the intake Air Temperature and Mass Air Flow sensor.
Remove the valve cover bolts with a 10mm.
Lifting straight up remove the valve cover.
Remove the valve cover gasket.
Using automotive engine cleaner and a clean cloth rag clean the gasket seating area.
Make sure that all particles, debris and oil are removed.
Place the new gasket into the gasket seating area.
Place the valve cover back into place.
Place the bolts into place and secure the valve cover by tightening the bolts using a torque wrench.
Then put everything back together.

Not to discredit JacksonWilder3 who didn't read your first post but here's the info from the GM manual.
