Just got an 09 SS

Hey folks, just checking in to say Hi.

I bought my Black 09 SS Sedan (family guy) on March 12th. Saw it on the net...went and test drove it..and bought it all on the same day. I fell in love with it nearly instantly. I used to road-race motorcycles and this is the closest thing to that thrill that I've had in a long time. My days of driving a Honda Accord (EX) are over. I hope they bring back the GM Performance division so they keep on making the BEST-BANG-FOR-THE-BUCK speedsters like this Cobalt SS.

When I was test driving it, the salesman asked if I would be interested in upgrading the turbo with an upgrade package. I said I'd think about it..but for now I thought it was 'good enough'. Now that I've had it for a week I've decided that it is plenty fast..but a little more never hurt... So I called him up to inquire further about it and he said he'd have to get back to me... As I'm sure many of you know, it is still in developement. But he DID say he'd get back to me as soon as it was available.

Glad to meet all of ya.

Cheers,

Buzz

i didnt know they were making the TC in a 4 door configuration!!!!!!!

you learn something new everyday!

on your insurance, is it a sedan, or a sportscar? cause mine had the SS designation, they charged me extra as a sportscar! needless to say, i dont deal with that company anymore

Congratulations. Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to the site! The TC's are sweet! Check out Trifecta tuning. GM put a really weak tune on the SS/TC from the factory. With the Trifecta tune alone with no other mods, people are seeing 300whp!

Daman, am I correct in assuming the Trifecta tune also includes an increase in boost?

Wow guys, thanks for the overwhelming welcome!!

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this car!

Krazy, yes it's listed as a 'Sedan' on my insurace! (Plus I'm 43)

daman, thanks for the suggestion but I got the big warrant so I'll be sticking w/GM approved goods till that runs out. --- anxiously awaiting new 'upgrade' to finish developement.

Another thing about me, My son and I are planning a trip accross the US this summer. I work for Intel making computer chips...and every 7 years they give you a paid 2 month sabbatical off of work. So this summer (my 10th year..cuz I had to push it out a few years being so busy) My 17yr old son and I are going from Mesa Arizona, to Oatman Arizona (one of the most photographed parts of Route 66) , then to Kingman Az, Peach Springs Az, Selignam Az, Flagstaff, Holbrook, taking route 66 all the way back as far as we can, then heading to Ohio. The little Gem of a car (My new Cobalt!) is going to be our horse-n-buggy!

I can't wait. We're not leaving till June....so hopefully the new upgrade will be available by then. Current top speed -150ish? What will it be after the upgrade? Not that I'll try it...but it's nice/fun to know it's there.

Cheers to all you guys and again, thx for the warm welcome!
