New member, 2 new cobalts, and few pictures.

Hello everyone I just joined this group a little while ago and thought that I would introduce myself..........

My Name is Zach, I'm in Central IL and am 24 and married.... I work as an industrial Mechanic and 2 of my main hobbies are building hovercrafts, and I'm also building a V8 Powered 69 convertible VW beetle and have a 66 hardtop that I'm going to do something with too. if your interested in those projects take a look at http://www.zbcreations.com

I just Bought an 09 2 door cobalt on the 4th. Nothing special just a Black LT with an automatic, spoiler, trim, and a spare tire (I still can believe a spare tire is an option... LOL) I pretty much just bought it as a good gas mileage work car, I traded in my 06 pontiac G6 V6 for it. I bought the G6 new also but hat LOTS and LOTS of problems with it and the warranty was up so it was time to get rid of it, the sad thing is I babied the car and had all those problems. eeerrrrrrr Hopefully I have better luck with the cobalt..............

After Driving my cobalt for about a week both my wife and I really liked it. In fact my wife (Tiffany) like it so much that she wanted one too...... It was either put about a grand into her 95 buick or trade it in..........

So we got her a 09 2 door sport tint metallic red LS with just a few options, we figured that way we have a little nicer car for trips with at least cruise control

Boy was the dealer surprised when we went and and said, hey you know that cobalt you sold us.......... We want another........ LOL

We don't plan on any major mods, maybe a couple appearance mods???? The wife has already mentioned that she wants a stainless exhaust tip.... LOL We're not too worried about performance mods since these are basically work cars...... That's what the hot rod beetles are for

So far we really like the cobalts though.... They look nice, are nice to drive and get great gas mileage.....

Here are a few pictures.

Talk to you all later............

Welcome Zack and wife...

Since you are in IL...maybe you can make it to the big Cobalt meet in the Chicago area 24 April. go to crateenginedepot.com for info. so far supposed to be more than 120 cobalt owners claiming they'll make it.

Thanks guys...

Red07SSNA thanks for letting us know about the cobalt meets..... Sounds like it would be a good time but we already have plans for that weekend........

I briefly looked at the DIY section yesterday and I seen the sticky about wrapping parts with carbon fiber. I really like carbon fiber and might end up doing some of that. I've made a couple of our hovercraft dashes out of CF

I might even look into some of the carbon/kevlar or glass hybrid colored clothes or Texalium or holographic carbon, but then your talking BIG $$$

Some of the black/grey or black/silver would probably look nice with my black and grey interior
