New Owner of a 2007 Cobalt

I bought a 2007 Cobalt 2.2 liter five speed, last November. It's a fun car to drive but I do a lot of highway driving. The lack of cruise control is a pain but not too bad. My fault for not thinking about it. Other than that I really like it.
Put Amsoil 5W30 in which reduces the engine temp a few degrees. Plan on changing to Amsoil in the tranny if I can ever find out the spec. All the manual gives is a GM part number. GM is not where I want to go for lubricants. Any sites to recommend for this information?

I did pull up the recommended fluid on the Amsoil site but I want to make sure it is right. It looks like automatic transmission fluid so I want the spec to ensure it is right and get the on-line listing changed if necessary.
