Hate My Shifter

Hi every one. I'm new member, just got 06 colbalt LS for best price FREE. done the tires and wheels now. 225/40R18 on BFG's.working on FE5 suspension upgrade. I have a question. I've got the auto tranny, and shifter is falling apart. shift rod loose ,shifter knob pulls off ,lever on side always fall out in hand looking for something with more positive feel. Is there a after market shifter you would recommend. don't really care if have to lose console to fit. not really trying to shift car racing, as wanting positive feel. live near winding mountain road sometime need to down shift. always some idiot pops out in front, who doesn't know what they are doing. have checked days worth of threads, and general net search. Don't want to get something that's going to cause problems. I'm coming over from v-8 power, looking forward to squeezing some good HP out of these 4 cyclinders. will post pics when car more worthy. thanks

Just go to your local junkyard and get an assembly.
