New Member Looking for Some Information

Hi Everyone!
I am the proud owner of a 2008 Cobalt LS 5-speed. just turned 100,000 two weeks ago! My folks got her for me new when I was in high school, she's my first car and she's been by my side since I got my license! The blue beauty is starting to show some age, but I no longer drive her in these nasty NY winters and I can start fighting back against the rust! I joined this forum to be a part of a community that loves these cars the way I do. Also to look for information. I am currently trying to figure out why the 12v lighter outlets don't work. I've been searching through the forum for info, and I have found some stuff I will try, but if anyone knows anything let me know! Well thanks for reading my post, I'm glad to be a part of the group!
Regards,
Rory

There likely is some fuse that covers both of them - it's likely it blew.

Nope they are fused separately. One is called the Trunk/Outlet ( 20A )and the other LTR ( 15A ), both fuses are under the hood fuse block. You probably have a shorted accessory cable and when it didn't work in one outlet and blew the fuse you tried the other and blew that fuse too.

What do you mean by accessory cable? Like the cable on the phone charger I was using? Also I've read here that those fuses control other things like the trunk. My trunk still opens and my OBDII port still works, which I read is the other tell tale sign of a blown fuse? Any ideas to what I should be looking for?

Huh, I didn't even think of that. I'm going to have to check that out when I go to rebuild her this winter. Thanks everyone!
