oil neck?

how do i take it out for when i take that plastic cover off? i know you can take it out, but im just worried its not supposed to be? oooh, and can anyone tell me how the hell to take off the oil filter?

take the oil cap off and twist and pull the neck straight up really really hard.

for the oil filter its that metal case with the black cap with the huge bolt on top of it. u have to go buy a socket for it. i forget the size and don't want to go find it in the garage so someone can answer that. drivers side of the engine beside the intake manifold. look at the oil change thread it has directons on it.

yeah, i knew bout the oil filter and stuff, just not the size. i think its a 32mm...huge effin socket. but the oil cap will still fit w/out the neck?

1 1/4" socket works for the oil filter.

got ahold of a gm socket, popped off the filter and got the new one in. filled it with Valvoline fully synthetic so its good to go. thanks guys. and i got the oil neck off too.

i went to o'reillys and bought a 32mm socket. its a specific GM part socket, says so on the socket GM Performance.
