Faster than a cobalt

Ok so used to have a toyota camry with a 2.2 I4 motor in it. Slow as balls even with headers, intake, exhaust, and some suspension work. So I got my 07 ls cobalt ok. I have two friends one with a 1999 mecury sable and one with a 1996 olds alero. They claim that because there motors are bigger that I am not as fast as them and that they could beat me in a street race. Anybody else have any thoughts on this.

the answer is nothing, absolutely nothing is faster than a cobalt. i once saw a cobalt blow the doors off of a SR71 Blackbird... figuratively of course because they dont have doors

I would just laugh as they are driving a sable and a Alero(though I have seen some nicely done up alero's). The 2.2 is a decent car for what it is, a cheap economy car for getting good mileage. The car stock with a manual and good driver would probably not best anything better than mid 15's. I mean it puts about 120-30whp down and weighs like almost 3000lbs(depending on driver). Its not made to be fast, as are the giggle, sable and alero. If you want fast, there is mods out there or trade in for the TC or find a nice SC.

Bigger motors does not mean anything this day and age. I got some stang, camaro and other v8 cars that would agree they lost to my lil' pepsi bottle.
