Stupid argument IMO, I don't even see why you care... More often then not in my area, crotch rocket riders drive like complete [email protected]$$es.. I have nothing against them, in fact I plan to buy myself a CBR/ R6/ Ninja/ GSXR in a few years. The biker population gets a bad rep because of the fact that a lot of (specifically crotch rocket riders) love to do absolutely stupid things on the road... How many times do I see some retard trying to pull a wheelie going 80 on our crappy parkways, or pass my car going 20mph in bumper to bumper traffic... - In jeans and tees!

Imo no one needs to pay any special attention to motorcyclists unless stopping short. As a rider, you are equally visible in terms of height and have a decent sized vehicle that everyone should be able to see, there are no special rules for riders, you consent to brave the roads and deal with morons in cars who can't drive, its part of life...

No No No you need to watch out for them as we can not stop as fast as you can and pulling out in front of us is noting like pulling out in front of another car... You can be charged with vehicular homicide if I die on my bike. I think that idiots need to be more aware rather than on their cell phones or doing makeup driving. I am a careful rider and yes I do care. I dont wantto ee any of my family or friends killed while riding and some moron pull out in front of them. I have been cut off and tailgated several times and its not a easy feeling, and people in their CAGES Need to be more aware of their surroundings. Yes their are idiots on motorcycles as there are idiots in their cars. The table turns both ways but I still think its owuld help if people in their cars would pay more attention.

You are beating a dead horse... I'm surprised a grown man would have so much to complain about on the subject.. Both parties are at fault, end of story... Nothing will change, the world will go on. Bike riders will die, car drivers will continue to be ignorant. When I get my bike will I care? No, cause I know lots of people drive cars like retards and if someone hits me out of stupidity, they better pray I die. Bike drivers are equally to blame because the sheer stupidity they display sometimes.

For me it all boils down to the simple point that everyone needs to be more careful. It's just THAT simple. He is an example.

August 23, 2008 my sister, Anna, was on her way home from work at night in her gold Cavalier. She was almost to our town when she went to change CDs. She dropped the CD. They think she tried to pick it up and must have taken her eyes off the road for just a few seconds.

That was long enough for her Cavalier going around 55 to veer into the other lane and hit head on with a Yukon Denali going about the same speed. The math is not too hard folks. No one in the Denali was injured. My sister was killed ALMOST instantly. The driver of the Denali sat with her while she died.

My sister was 19 years old.

If anyone on here ever listens to anything I ever say listen to this... It takes only a second. Just a single second of inattention can cost human lives. It does not matter car, truck, suv, motorcycle, or even a semi. Always be careful.

Whenever you find your attention wondering behind the wheel I want you to think of this girl...

...and her pretty Cavalier she loved so much.

And what this has done to our entire family.

I don't encounter a whole lot of bikers but I try to treat them like they treat the other traffic. If you're on a bike and flowing along with traffic like a good little rider, then I'll for sure give you a little extra space. Hell I'll even smile and wave if you're next to me at the traffic light. You respect me, I'll respect you. Buuuuut, if I see you in my rearview weaving in and out of lanes waaaay too close and generally being a prick, then all bets are off. Screw you. I'm gonna try my best to keep you behind me.... just to piss you off. You take a big enough risk by riding a bike to begin with. If you wanna up the ante and ride like an ******* then you deserve whatever fate befalls you. If you do manage to scream past me weaving in and out and I see your mangled carcass in a ditch 5 minutes later, I'm gonna ***** about traffic backing up but I won't shed a tear for your life.

Incredibalt, you read my mind...

Will- I'm so sorry you and your family had to suffer through the loss. Its so sad that someone lost a life over something so insignificant.

Whenever I see someone driving while talking on a phone or even 5X worse, texting... I yell at them if their window it down .

you know a majority of bike deaths are not results of another person on the road but rather the biker, being careless, ive seen a guy try to cut off a car real close in a pass and get side swiped, his fault, saw a guy drop his bike going about 60 trying to show off and do a wheelie on a busy highway. people are ignorant, but then the same rule applies to car drivers when dealing with suck examples as ignorant street racing.

I've had three of my closest friends killed in bike crashes and one almost killed.none their fault. I don't give a s*** what you think you know or who you think you are, if you say you don't need to be carefully on the road and look out for bikers, or try to be a **** and try to stop them from passing you, ( lie chein Rip.) you should be the dead one . No mater how that biker is acting. Your bull s***could kill them.it's so easy to loose control of a bike when something un expected happens. I can't believe anyone would say what I've seen in this thread. I better stop now before I go too far. Will I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagin how it would be to loose my sister.

Dude.. Holy f*ck Will.. I never knew a Denali could cause so much damage, at 55 no less. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you and your family are doing well now. And the Denali driver was very kinda to spend the last moments with her.

Unfortunately much like some kids in there Civics, trying to show off, or be cool, some motorcyclists act the same way. Now I'm not saying all are like that, I'm sure that are a respectful and curtious rider, Cobaltinator. But there has been more than once I've been on a freeway cruisin' along with traffic at 75+ thinkin' "Hot damn! Traffic is just movin' today!" and out of no where a bike comes rippin' by weavin in and out of traffic at 95 to 100, and my heart skips a beat and wave of fear washes through me as I stop and god "Shit, I was just about to change lanes and pass the dude in front of me! That guy woulda been f*cked!!'

Some bikers like to take advantage of the fact that they are small and can maneuver in and out of places, but they also don't realize that other people in other vehicles don't always pay attention as well as they should. Even though it's plastered all over DMV walls or DMV driver manuals and tests.

Bikes are good fun and all, and I do my best to stay clear of them but sometimes you just miss things, some bikers just need to exercise more common sense while they're riding, same as some drivers should do so as well.

For those who have lost friends, loved ones and other due to drivers not paying attention, I'm sorry for your losses.
