Looking to Buy a Fourwheeler, Opinions Needed

so yeah, im looking to buy a fourwheeler in the near future, and i really don't know alot about them so i fugured that i would talk to you guys about it, and see if you can help me find whats best for me..

here is what im lookin for:

nothing 4 wheel drive, i won't be riding in mud or water

i will be riding in sand mostly, sand dunes and stuff like that

i would like a 400cc or higher, im not skinny so i need something that will get me around

i don't have a ton of money so i will be buying a newer used one, 07 or higher

and i don't want to have to be working on this thing every day, so something reliable is a must. also, it will have to be easy to buy parts for, so nothing from china...

thanks for the help!

Polaris and Can Am have some good models ou there in that range and what you are looking for. They do have a good dealer base also.

Yamaha has always made good sport quads, Honda is the innovator of the ATV's and has a few sport models. Suzuki used to be big, but havent heard much from them in the ATV market lately, same with kawasaki.

Biggest thing to check and it varies for each area is the dealer support. How much will parts cost and how long will it take to get parts. In the mid 1990's Honda parts were very pricey and took forever to get in, and that was a very big city.

Honda Fourtrack 350 ftw

too small I know, but they're just like civics, they can be run forever and are soooo cheap to fix

I have a 450R and that thing is awesome. No problems at all (knockonwood) And the parts are about as cheap as I would wanna pay for something that's haulin me around at high speed. lol All I did to it was a Yoshi exhaust and different jets and its a damn fun bike to ride!

I used to have the Polaris Predator when it first came out, I drag raced Banshee's and would take the predator to the track some times and If I got a good light I could beat all the 450's and Raptors(mostly because they couldn't keep the front end on the ground) that were stock. I was a little smaller than all the other riders though. I really liked my predator, I had a Raptor later that wasn't as fun on the trail but did have a little more power. I haven't ever ridden any of the 450's sadly. Out of all the bikes I've had I miss the Predator the most.
