Post My Day

Wow what a day. Here is the start of my day.

I wake up at 6:30 this morning. My dad was planning on getting his truck aligned up. So he left the house at 7:15. I leave 15 minutes later cause he thought the truck was gonna be awhile to get an alignment and he needed to be picked up. So I get a call, 5 minutes away from the place. And he said it will only be 30 minutes. So, I turn around, and go pick up this girls car I was planning on cleaning.

I finish cleaning the car at 12:00. I go take the car back to her place and once I got to her house, I find out I forgot the keys to my car at my house. I had an appointment to the dealership at 1:00. So I call them and tell them I will be there at 1:30. They said thats fine. My dad comes to her place to bring me the keys. I leave her place at 1:00.

As I'm driving to the dealership that is about 35-40 minutes away, (I'm on this dual highway thats got a lot of straight aways and no lights) I have my cruise control set on maybe 63 in a 55. Well everyone else is going that speed. So while I'm looking at this car that was a little ahead on me, I see the state police. It was too late to slow down but I hit the slow down button on the cruise about 5 times while I was in front of him.(Probably a bad idea) I see him pull out in my rear mirror and bam, he is behind me. I pull over, he tells me what I did blah blah. Anyway, he then tells me that my tint was too dark. 50% front 35% rear. This is maximum legal for VA. Then he wants me to sit in his car. He then thinks I'm on marijuana cause I was nervous as shit and shaking. He asks me a bunch of questions saying if I search your car, I'll find nothing? I say I'm clean, He then says if I give you a drug test, you'll be clean? I say yes. We say nothing for a few minutes. I desperately did not want a ticket. Time is 1:17 at this time. Now he says, I'm gonna let you off with a warning. THANK GOD!

As I get to the dealership 5 minutes late, I tell them I'm here for the recall. I then tell them that I put fog lights on the car, with factory switch harness and stuff. I wanted them to cut the fog light indicator on on the dash so that I know when the lights are on. 50 minutes later he talks to me saying everything went fine, BUT, he says we could not get the light to cut on. He thinks its an electrical problem but I told them its not. He goes on talking about we gotta pull the dash and stuff apart and find what the so called "Problem" is with the light not working. He told me it will cost up to 300 dollars to get it to cut on, and 3 hours to get it working. I tried telling them its gotta be programed but the dealership knows it all of course.

Now I'm at home finishing typing this. Tired, hungry, just now got over my nervousness.

Couple questions for you guys about my day. Would my parents find out about me getting pulled over with a warning? And is there really no other way to get this fog light indicator on? Could I possibly find a wiring harness and wire one of the switch wires to one of the wires that goes to the gauge cluster?

The only way they would find out is if they mailed anything to you and they seen it before you do.
Or if the car is not in your name and they called to ask about you driving it. That could depend also how old you are.

Next time if you see a cop you should just let off the gas a little bit. If you slow down too much they think you're guilty, lol.

I don't think they will. My friend said he got stopped for a warning when he was 16. It just got me a little paranoid.

they shouldn't send or call if it was just a verbal warning, some give a written warning and which case they may send a letter or call..but its highly unlikely
