Winter driving stories

Hey whats up guys so I'm bored and I was thinking what kind of stories do you guys have about driving in the winter where I live in El Paso Texas it really doesn't snow very often in the winter and when it does its like all hell breaks loose due to the fact that people do not know how to drive in the winter I'll give you an example 2 winters ago we had a major freeze ( a major freeze for us was temperatures in the low teens to upper single digits at night) and of course with my luck I had to drive in that weather and I will tell you it was a different kind of animal driving on pure ice with performance tires thank God I have traction control and ABS, so what are some of the stories you guys have?

I feel your pain with horrible drivers.
I live in San Antonio.
It rains, people go 30 on the highway with their flashers on

I was going 15 when I slid into the ditch a week or so ago. The metroplex was practically shut down for 3 days.

Same thing here in Colorado. Every first snow of the year people freak out like they've never seen the stuff before. Drive 20 mph on the highway. People suck. And then there's those idiots that run their studded snows all summer long, which unfortunately is legal to do here. smh...

WHAT?
In AK, you could only have studs on your tires till MAY.
any day after that, you would get a ticket for 50 bucks a tire.

ALSO, Studs absolutely RUIN the road, they cause rutts in the road, which will fill when water when it rains, causing you to hydroplane.

That's stupid.

I completely agree. Whenever I hear one of these morons approach I want to pull them out of their car. Especially since you don't need studs for our winters at all. These are usually the same people doing 20 in a 65 when it snows...

It's not THAT expensive...lol although I did pour a lot of money in that car the past 12 months... This is an old picture BTW, she's in the shop this winter until I can afford a 4.45 tranny :(

It's actually the same here. Snow storms with more than a few inches are not common "down" here in Denver. Every year we get a few bigger ones with 6-10 inches and every few years we get one with 2-3 feet. I prefer for the snow to stay in the ski resorts where it belongs

It doesn't snow enough here to warrant the use of studded tires
