I've only ever driven 3 Hondas. A 2005ish Civic, 1992 Accord, and a 2004 Accord. Shifter felt a tad bit loose in the 2004 Accord, and the handling of the Civic was terrible. Everything else was fine though.

Haha that's what made the civic fun tho it's horrible handling. You can make them handle like they are on rails. Honda tuned them from factory to handle crappy for safety lol.

That's actually one of the reasons I got a Cobalt instead of a Civic in high school!

Cobalts were waay too expensive when I was back in high school. My budget was 4g and cobalts were sitting at like 8g.

Oh yeah, I drove my ex's aunt's 7th gen DX auto sedan and it was slow as molasses in a blizzard. Pretty sure my '86 Bonneville could've taken it, and it only has 110hp.

A stock Cobalt 2.2 could rip it a new a-hole lol

Just sucked cuz the aftermarket world gave up on the 7th gen civic. There was almost nothing for them. It didn't even have vtec!!!! :/ only the ex did.

---------- Post added at 09:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:18 AM ----------

It had 117 hp the ex with vtec had 127

The steering in them were good tho oh how I miss hydraulic steering. At least my explorer still has hydraulic has more feel than my ss

That's because the 7th gen had nothing to begin with. Why would they waste their time making parts for a car that only made 127hp in top trim?

Not going to count the Si/SiR hatch. That was a completely different car and seems to have nothing to do with the 7th gen Civic.

Those cars were also light as air and insanely fun to drive, plus cheap and easily accessible and had little to no competition.

Everything the Civic competed with from 99-05 was vastly superior to it. Even the base Corolla was faster and better built.

Now hold on no the 7th gen civic blew the competition out of the dust. The only car that came close to it was the new corolla that was released in 03 but at that time the car was already halfway through its lifecycle.

Plus the 7th gen civic didn't weigh anything. Mine was 2400 pounds vs a cobalts like 2800.

If you got the manual ex civic 01-05 I guarantee you it would be side by side against a 2.2 cobalt.
