The 2nd gen s10 are absolutely horrible on fuel. Worse on fuel than a full size so I just dont see the charm

2009 Ford Escape Limited - 3.0L, 6 speed auto, 4x4, 25/33 city/hwy imp mpg.
2017 F150 XLT-XTR - 5.0L, 4x4, 3.55's, E-locker, xtr chrome package, fx4 off-road package.

Only when pulling a Ford, my last 2 S10 had the 4.3l Vortec with highway gears and both got me better than 10l/100k. So it must depend on how hard you drive them.

Not sure. Everyone I've ever known with one commented on how hard it was on fuel and 300km on a full tank. Dads buddy got one because his half ton frame was cracked and he came back to the shop to ask us to look it over for a brake sticking because it was so much harder than his truck.

A lot of these trucks came with 4:11 or 3:73 mine had 2:73 gearing.

Must be the difference. Oddly enough my mustang gained 50km to a tank when I went from 2.73 to 3.55

I get better gas mileage with the 3.92 over the 3.55 in the Durango as well haha

You guys would if you don't re-calibrate the odometer and speedometer.

Gearing doesn’t affect the speedometer on the Durango, it has a tone ring on the ring gear itself for the speedometer
