Is it mostly city or mostly freeway or a mix of both (and how much of each)?

33 down and still 57 days of winter to go! Got to talking to the Trifecta engineer today and we corrected a problem I had with the tune. Turns out all I had to do was reflash the ECM with stock tune and then reflash with custom tune. He also told me not to expect great gains at temperatures lower than -10C ( +14F ) because they couldn't advance timing enough at these temperatures.

@tm -11.6C ( +11F )

Its 96% interstate. 26 miles and all but maybe 6-8 is 35-50 zone. If I use a bluetooth speaker in the car and turn radio off, do not use heat(since its cold out) after the initial get warm and I can eck out a few more miles.

I basically never use heat, unless it's 15 degrees or below, as the engine comes on regardless of if I want it or not, as it is ERDTT mode. But at that temperature, you really gotta have some heat. Otherwise, I just use the heated seats and heated steering wheel, which to a mighty fine job of keeping me warm.

Oh, wow, that's a very slow interstate if it's only 35-50 most of the way...unless you meant the opposite?

The 35 and such are off interstate. Like 45 into a 35 to the interstate for 3 miles. After 21 or so miles on the interstate I get off(giggity) and its 55 down to 35 for the last couple of miles

Ahh okay, gotcha.

A Bolt or Volt would do you good there. That many miles on the freeway in a Volt would probably end with you out of range - but if you have the ability to fully charge at work, then you'd likely be good (in summer) to drive to/from work entirely on electric. Even if you ran it on Hold mode when you're on the freeway, you're still talking about 45-47 MPG, which is definitely going to be more than the Abarth can do.

The Bolt would easily make it there and back without charging at work, even if you can't get a full charge at home (you'd want to have an L2 charger at home, since the battery is so much bigger than the Volt's, but I think even at L1 speeds, you'd be able to recharge most of what you used, and then get the full charge over the weekend).

The obvious advantage to the Volt is that you can simply drive anywhere you want, since you have a gas engine, as well. My buddy takes his down to Atlanta, from Michigan, every year.

Yea we'll see, I am going to have my Abarth paid for soon. Plan to save a heck of a bit and get a truck first. Be nice to have something to put stuff in. I have a friend come by just to grab used oil because I do not dare to take it to the place in the car.

If you get a Volt or Bolt, you'd be surprised just how much shit fits in one.
