'91 Mitsubishi 3000gt

My brother is 16 almost 17 and wants to buy his first car soon. A guy my mom knows had a'91 3000gt he said he will sell for $1200. He said it need a new battery and an exhaust.. but he said they will be replaced before he sells. He wants to get aa truck or suv because he plays in a band(with my mom) and wants to be able to haul his stuff around. It's not perfect but it would be fun. It's just the 6 cylinder one too. I know some of you are import fans..so anyone know of any problems that could be major I should check out before I buy? Anything to look for during the test drive? It is a manual by the way..which I think they all are? Thanks for the help guys/gals!

I have a buddy with a dodge stealth. Same car just branded as a dodge. The only major problem I know of with these is with the capacitors going bad on the ecm. Cause s lots of hard to diagnose problems. Google to learn more.
Other big problem is that it is an orphan. Dodge dealers don't know anything about and neither do mitsu dealers. Expect to have to fix most things yourself.

The VR-4 is harder to work on, they are all a V6 BTW but this must be a NA model not TT. So then is it a SOHC or DOHC.

Just a short video on their reliability. This is one of the biggest shops for the stealth/3000GT trying to blow up the motor before a new one is put in that's already built.

3000GT VR-4 AWD twin turbo variant. The engine bay is even worse.
