Car starts but won’t stay running

Ok so two days ago my husband was driving home from work and his car started acting like it was running out of gas. It was low on gas but not to the point that the gas light came on. He gets to a gas station and fills up and makes it home. Well the next morning he tries to leave for work and it will start but not stay running. He cleaned the throttle body as it has an issue with acting up if it is dirty, and he put some fuel injection cleaner in and it started to run better and would stay on but he never tried to drive it anywhere because I had to go to school and couldn’t “rescue” him if it died. So he takes my car to work today and I try to start his car and again, back to starting but not staying on. We plan to try changing the fuel filter this evening. We did replace the fuel pump last summer so idk if it went again or if it’s just the filter. Any suggestions would be great!!

Could definitely be the pump, but when I had the same exact problem, it was that one of my injectors had gone bad. Sometimes it'd flow just enough fuel to start, and/or run for a few minutes, but then the car would die. You can do a flow test on the injectors, or just try replacing them, since they're not terribly expensive. About $40-60 per injector for OEM (ACDelco), and you'd want to replace all 4 at the same time.

Not 100% sure which of these is correct for your year/engine, but here's what's available on Amazon:

you might want to call the dealer to verify the correct part number with your vin because they might flow different and the ecm is setup for a certain injector size and depending on what car you have i believe some cobalts had a recall for a problem like this to change all injectors ... send me the last 8 of your vin and i can check or call the dealer with your vin and they can look it up also
but changing the fuel filter cant hurt

Can anyone tell where my bcm is located. I have the 06 ls with no cruise control. Drives me crazy. I bought a steering wheel on ebay with cruise control buttons and it should arrive next week sometime. I thought I read that I needed to check bcm and make sure it's wired. Like pin 61 grey wire? Anyone?

BCM is on the passenger side center console. If position 61 on C2 isn't populated you will need to run a wire through the column. Then you will need to get the cruise enabled with a TechII.
