Fresh Air Door Won't Close?

I bought a used 08 Cobalt, and I've noticed that I get no clicking but when I look up through the glovebox after removing the filter that my fresh air/recirculation door does not open or close and it's stuck open, what needs replaced to fix this issue?

if you can remove the hvac actuator from the door to make sure the door opens and closes without binding ... replace the actuator

Freak87. It is a very special trick to replace that blend door motor.
The entire dash pad, air bag, glove box and all of the dash trim then remove the plenum itself, to get to that motor.
It is a good 1/2 day to full day job to disassemble and reinstall without breaking anything.
It could be that the previous owner didn’t like the clicking and just disconnected the lead to the motor....
With the wire cut....no clicking...
The motor is located about 2 inches higher then the filter and about 8 inches farther to the right.

When mine started doing the clicking in my 2010 and I realized I had never used that button in 4 years of having the car I just pulled the wire out of the connector behind the HVAC control panel. It stopped the annoying noise and didn't make a difference to the way I used the HVAC. Didn't cut the wire in case I decided to repair it eventually, but like 1966tbird said it's a good days job if you're alone and very small hands is a plus.
