Chevy Cobalt 2008, +130K Miles, Fuel Leakage

Hello,

I am far away from home and have a problem here with the car and thought to ask my friends here on this site:

I have a Chevy Cobalt 2008, with +130K miles on it. There is a fuel leakage (seems to be) from the fuel line at location of the footing position of the rear left passenger. The fuel lines look to be brass and then it seems that it becomes silver color (aluminum). The fuel seems to be dripping either from the silver piece or the brass one. I do not see any sign of physical impact. A few questions:

- Are there any recalls etc. related to this so that I take this to an authorized dealer?
- Has anyone had this problem?
- Is this easy to fix? Is this expensive to fix? What is the cost estimate and where should I go to fix?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Mansour

This is a common problem on Cobalts steel gas line are rusting underneath that silver paper which is a heat shield from the exhaust pipe. Water gets trapped under there and Rusts the steel line you can cut out the bad rusted line and replace with rubber fuel line and clamps. About $10 in materials at auto parts store
