Car is in anti theft mode, car turns off when I hit the brake at first.

I have a 2007 Chevy cobalt, 2.2 LT, great car, the only problem is my electrical dash, it doesn’t let my car turn on, it is in Anti- theft mode, this happens when I first go to start the motor, I hit the break slightly and the whole thing just dies out. I go to the back to reposition the negative cable and the cars lights turn on, but as far as electrical windows, lights on the inside , it reads “power steering “ on the dash. This has happened countless times need a solution?

Make certain your battery is up to snuff and your charging system is working properly. Clean and reconnect your battery terminals.
Then check the connections on the BCM. You may need to just disconnect and reconnect the BCM connectors a couple of times to clean the potential oxide on the connector pins. Then let us know how itís doing.
