Bonding 2010 ECM to 08

Planning on or checking the options of swapping a 17k mile 2010 cobalt LT 2.4L with dual VVT engine into my 08LS 2.2L. So using the TechII after engine, electrical, and ecm are swapped, Would you expect any surprises.
I might scarf the exhaust while there.

Last fall I put a 2007 2.4 cobalt engine into my 09 HHR. It was quite easy to do. I then used HP tuners to load up a 2.4 tune & I then programmed the 09 ECM with it.

Your problem is that the 08 doesn't have the wiring for the VVT actuators. You will want to find the engine harness off a 2.4 or 2.2 09+ which will have all of the required wiring, or you'll have to wire it up by hand. You will also need hp tuners to update the ECM with a tune that will run. send me an email (joelrsmith at gmail), I have a tune file that should work.

Thanks JR
Will be looking for more input.
I did check on the new GM wiring pigtails at about $15-20 each and pull them into the ecm connector.
Look out for email.
