2005 Cobalt - Driver's Side Headlight Low Voltage

Greetings,
I've been having a problem with my Cobalt's driver side low beam.

It appears that this isn't an uncommon problem, but this one seems weird...

I replaced the bulb - Sylvania 9007 - with a new one, and the low beam didn't work.

That shouldn't happen with a brand new bulb, so I tested the socket with a multimeter. It only showed about 6 volts, instead of the 12 that SHOULD have been at the socket!

The passenger side headlight works perfectly.

So why am I only getting 6 volts on the driver's side low beam?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have some resistance on that headlight circuit causing a voltage issue. Make sure the the socket itself isnt damaged or burnt and then trace the wire harness to look for any issues
