2006 Cobalt LS Coolant Temp Goes to 255

I own a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and I've come to a final decision that the car is a piece of junk and totally hate it. The coolant temperature goes up to 255 and I checked for leaks but found none, I changed the thermostat and the coolant temp sensor but in vain. I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to figure out a solution for this stupid car. The engine coolant fan does not turn on inspite of reaching high temperatures. The fan works when I turn on the A/C. I'm just fed up with the car and totally hate it. What do you recommend me do?

I don't have anymore money to spend on this car or a new car. Is there a specific coolant that one needs to use for a chevy cobalt?

not sure.. but i used a 50 50 mix of dexcool from auto zone.. and its weird cuz my engine light was on and said i had an issue with coolant that it wouldnt heat up enough and recommended that.. well it still wont heat up.. the highest ive seen is 180ish and i usually run at like 145-150.. its like the same problem just in reverse?.. i have an 05.. =(

wow having similiar probs with coolant temp sensor. my temp gauge now reads between 140-170 and kicked my engine light on the guy at auto zone put in on comp and it said coolant temp sensor reading too low so he said i need a new sensor. its only 12.99 but dont know how to change it. in the summer my temp runs from 190-220. I have been lucky that i havent had more serious issues like the sky high temps damn thats nascar temps. hope you get it fied man
