Accelerator Noise

I started having a problem recently with engine noise while the accelerator is being depressed.

The engine noise is normal when the car is idling, stopped or coasting. When I press the gas pedal, I get a louder noise. It almost sounds like there is something wrong with the muffler. I'm not entirely convinced, though, because I can't tell if it's a knocking noise or a muffler noise.

This started happening immediately after I stopped in for an oil change. In addition to having my oil changed, I also had the mechanics top off my fluids and replace the engine's air filter.

Car information:
2006 LS Sedan
59k miles

I plan to have someone else press the accelerator with the car in neutral, so I can stand outside and listen to the noise. Will post results.

Thanks in advance!

make sure you have a drain plug, and therefore oil before you drive it again...
