Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance, Camshaft Position Does Not Match

Lately my traction control has been shutting down, followed by hard shifting in transmission (if you cycle through gears while stationary, the whole car rocks hard when a gear goes in place.) This has been happening for a week or two.

I got a CEL with these codes only once when the traction control died while driving on the freeway:
p1174 Fuel Trim Cylinder balance
p0011 Camshaft Position does not match expected value.

Engine appears to run fine. The triggers for these events are unknown.

Ideas on the issue?

06 Cobalt 2.4 natural aspiration, 50k miles, no mods, daily driver, good on oil levels etc.

Was driving down the road and had traction control die, and CEL came on again.

No real triggers in driving style. I've also noticed gas mileage is 1/2 what the car gets when the car falls into this mode.

Still unsure what the hell is going on. Hate the dealership, but unsure if a mechanic will be able to diagnose this without a tech 2.

Ideas?
