The SS/SC is a pain in the ass compared to the LS, but not impossible. I find it easier to unplug that sensor above the supercharger to make getting the socket and extention down in there easy. You'll have to reach under the supercharger in order to comfortably get the filter in and out.
Since nobody ever posts the info: You need 6.5 quarts of oil exactly for the LSJ (We're the only Cobalt that doesn't take only 5 quarts). Buy one of those 5 quart jugs (If you buy 5 single quarts, you're gonna get raped on the price), and two singles. In other words, 7 quarts total. When you put the oil in, put the whole 5 quart jug in, a full regular quart, then half of the last quart. Then set aside that last half quart you didn't use in your house somewhere. When you do your next oil change, just buy 6 quarts and use that remaining half from the last time. Walmart now sells the AC Delco filters for our cars (For the longest time, they only had Fram... ugh... I usually just went to NAPA). Just look for PF456G.
Last note: use ONLY synthetic for the SS/SC. Mobil1 is always the default, but if you want, you can run Amsoil, Royal Purple or any GM approved synthetic per your manual.
